As a Jai certified Parenting Coach, I offer Jai’s Transformational Parenting Programme, which is rooted in empathy, attachment science, non-violent communication, emotional intelligence, brain science, and child development.
The average duration of this transformative programme is 12 weeks, however this may vary should a client require additional support at the end of the programme.
The general guideline of time allocation for the programme is as follows:
- 60-min zoom coaching session once a week for 12 weeks (same time each week)
- You can expect to spend about two hours a week on the programme content (it includes weekly videos and a workbook – you are welcome to work through it at your own pace – take it piece by piece, as little as 15 minutes a day if necessary)
Overview of Peaceful Parenting
Here we delve into the five core principles of peaceful parenting that are deeply rooted in science. They enable us to cultivate positive connections with our children founded on empathy, respect, and understanding. Prioritizing these approaches to our parenting can be truly life changing.
Setting Intentions as an Empowered Parent
Setting intentions as a parent is a proactive and empowering practice that brings focus, clarity, and purpose to your parenting journey. It enhances your ability to navigate challenges, stay consistent, and create a positive and nurturing environment for your children’s development.
The Ten Pillars of Empowered Parenting
In this module we unveil the map of this transformation parenting process which will help you gain awareness and clarity so you can show up more compassionately and confidently in your parenting.
Making Sense of Attachment Science
In exploring attachment science, we understand how infants and young kids form close bonds with their caregivers and how these early relationships affect a child’s feelings and behaviour as they grow up. We learn that the quality of the attachment bond can have lasting effects on a child’s relationships and mental health throughout their life. Here we discover how to earn a secure attachment with ourselves, so that we can show up in connection with our child when they need us!
Making Sense of Nervous System Science
Nervous system science is about studying how our body’s “communication system,” called the nervous system, works. It includes our brain, spinal cord, and nerves, which help us feel, move, and think. In this module we learn how to become aware of and strengthen the communication systems within our bodies to support ourselves and lower our stress levels, allowing us to find the inner calm needed to parent peacefully, with empowerment.
Making Sense of Mindsight and Brain Science
When we grasp the structure and functioning of our brain, along with ways to nurture its best growth and activity, we offer ourselves and our children a priceless gift. As parents, we are currently entrusted with a profoundly important mission: we possess the tools that actively mould our children’s brains.
Making Sense of Emotional Intelligence
In this module we explore why emotional intelligence matters in parenting – why we need to know how to feel our feelings and why we need to understand how to communicate complex feelings and needs. Grasping our emotions and the interaction between our heart, mind, and nervous system helps us, as parents, embody the emotionally mature traits we wish our children to develop as they grow.
We also cover emotion coaching which helps us as parents understand the best way to respond to our children’s big feelings and big expressions. We learn how to model emotional intelligence to our children by showing them how we, as adults, navigate through our own emotional waters in a healthy way. We explore how you can best serve your child, step by step, during big feelings.
Empowered Conversations
Because transformation parenting believes that conversation matters, in this module we showcase a 10-step Empowered Conversations process to resolve conflict, repair, disconnection, and solve problems creatively that you can pick and choose from, creating your own style of communicating.
Setting Boundaries and the PEACE Process
Here we gain an understanding around the importance of setting boundaries around family values, and we reveal the five-step framework to replace disciplinary strategies (punishments, rewards, threats, bribes, permissiveness, manipulation, or coercion, etc.). Also known as the PEACE process, parents are guided on how to respond to challenging moments like: sibling squabbles; our kids not following through with an agreement or struggling to honour a family boundary; behaviour that results in harm of any kind; parent and child disagreeing and getting stuck in power struggles.
Exploring Anger and Healthy Aggression
In this enlightening module we discover that anger communicates when our values have been crossed or when our needs are not met and that our current relationship with anger reflects our childhood experiences and how we witnessed adults expressing it. We learn that aggression is healthy, natural, necessary, and motivating when viewed through nervous system and brain science and that it can be practiced as a tool to release anger. We teach you how to guide your children to a healthy relationship with anger and aggression.
Playful Parenting and Storytelling
A beautiful reminder that play is the language of childhood! Playful parenting is the best way we can work with our children. It’s the absolute key to cooperation. It’s speaking in their own true language; the language of their hearts and minds. We look at the science of play, the benefits of play and storytelling and the different types of play that may work best for you.
Your Personal Transformation
This is all about you! After eleven weeks of discovery, learning, and personal growth and development, we allow ourselves to take it slow, pause, and reflect on our journey. It’s not about fixing our imperfections but rather nurturing resilience through self-reflection and acknowledging every small triumph along the way. We give ourselves the green light to CELEBRATE!
